Member pubs of the Independent Family Brewers of Britain have recorded a 2% growth in draught beer sales - higher than the industry average - according to independent research. Data from CGA Strategy shows that the pub industry overall recorded a 3% drop in draught beer sales during 2011.

Searcys will no longer provide members' catering at the Hurlingham Club after the venue opted to move this area of operation in-house. The upmarket caterer, which has worked with the Hurlingham in some capacity for the past 16 years, will continue to deliver the members' service throughout 2012.

The five-star, 269-bedroom Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh will be relaunched on Thursday following a multimillion-pound refurbishment. Owned by the Hotels Corporation of Edinburgh, the entire property has been renovated over a two-year period, during which time the hotel remained open.

Gidleigh Park executive chef Michael Caines has called on restaurants throughout England to back a new fundraising scheme for industry charity Hospitality Action (HA), of which he is a patron. The charity is looking for a wide network of restaurants to encourage diners to add a discretionary £1 to their bill.

The Olympic Games could turn 2012 into a record year for hotels in London and the regions, according to accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Liz Hall, head of hospitality and leisure research at PwC, said she expected growth in revenue per available room (revpar) of 2.8% across hotels in the capital this year.

The 39-bedroom Best Western Crown Hotel in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, is to undergo a £1m investment following its sale to the Antoinette Group. Thotel was sold by Ian Dunn of Evergreen Hotels, who will now concentrate on running the Calcot hotel in Reading.
