The top twenty baristas (espresso coffee makers) in Britain have been found, and will all be heading for the UK barista championship in London this coming weekend. The champion British barista will go forward to the world finals in June, which for the first time are also being held in the UK.

The Kelham Island Tavern in Sheffield has won the Campaign for Real Ale's (Camra National Pub of the Year award for the second year running. The pub is the only pub every to win the accolade twice on the trot. It has also held the title of Camra Yorkshire Regional Pub of the Year on four occasions.

Iain Sampson, head chef at Peterstone Court Country House in Llanhamlach, has been named the Best Chef in Wales. Sampson won a tense cook-off yesterday (16 February) to take the title in the National Chef of Wales final, which is organised by the Welsh Culinary Association.
