Tierra PatagoniaSituated in the southern-most tip of Chile, the hotel overlooks Lake Sarmiento to the mountain peaks of Torres del Paine National Park. While the exterior - with its weathered and worn fossil look - has been inspired by the wildness of the hotel's surroundings, the interior is intended to be luxuriously casual with natural materials evoking the outside environment.

Hotel The Exchange Tailor's DummyThe initiators of the Lloyd hotel and the LLove hotel in Japan have created a fashion hotel in the centre of Amsterdam, where the bedrooms are dressed like models on a catwalk by eight students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Central to its unconventional spirit, the hotel offers guests a choice of rooms from one to five stars.

DadaThornbridge Brewery has launched this bar in the centre of Sheffield, which focuses on the brewery's full range of keg, bottle and cask beers and has a revolving list of selected beers from other breweries. It showcases temporary art exhibitions by both established and up and coming artists.

archer streetThe Archer Street bar in London's Soho opened officially earlier this month. It offers the atmosphere of a members' club but is open to everyone and boasts bar staff who occasionally break into song as they work. The cocktail menu includes a signature Dawa (a Kenyan drink translated as "magic potion") and Champagne in Yorkshire (made up of Champagne, gin, rhubarb liqueur and syrup).
