The UK's largest independent catering firm Westbury Street Holdings (WSH) has won a Good Food on the Public Plate Award for its commitment to offering a sustainable food service through its BaxterStorey, Caterlink and Holroyd Howe businesses.

BaxterStorey has banked a £100m catering contract with people's bank RBS after Compass Group's Restaurant Associates (RA) lost the business. The five-year deal, estimated by industry sources to be worth in excess of £20m a year, is widely regarded as one of the most lucrative contracts ever to be awarded to an independent operator.

Independent contract caterer BaxterStorey has appointed Christian Pauritsch to the role of operations director, South-west. Pauritsch, who has 23 years of catering and hospitality experience, will be responsible for enhancing BaxterStorey's business in the South-west of England.

National Chef of the Year runner-up Hayden Groves has been appointed executive chef at BaxterStorey's contract at Barclays at Churchill Place, Caterer and Hotelkeeper has learnt. Groves's new position will see him assume responsibility for the fine dining, hospitality and the Greenwich Room Restaurant, a 30-cover facility for executives to entertain clients.

BaxterStorey has scooped a sweet deal to provide staff dining at gum and jellies manufacturer Haribo. Believed to be worth in excess of £100,000, the two-year contract will see BaxterStorey cater for 550 Haribo employees at its UK head office in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

BaxterStorey has scored a £12m catering contract win with asset management firm BlackRock. The five-year deal at the firm's Drapers Gardens office in London will see BaxterStorey deliver a host of catering services for around 1,800 BlackRock employees.

Contract caterer BaxterStorey has graduated a further 37 students from its Chef Academy training programme, with Michelin-starred chefs John Campbell and Philip Howard on hand to celebrate their achievements. The programme has qualified 151 chefs since its launch in 2006.
