The Michelin-starred Star Inn at Harome, near Helmsley, in North Yorkshire, has closed following an outbreak of norovirus. The restaurant, which is run by proprietors Jacquie and Andrew Pern, has shut after more than 80 diners and several members of staff fell ill with the winter vomiting bug last month.

The celebrity chef and proprietor of the iconic restaurant in Bray, Berkshire, has invited each one of the affected diners to return to the Fat Duck as his guest.

Industry figures have paid tribute to Keith Floyd, the legendary restaurateur, TV chef and bon viveur, who has died aged 65. Floyd died at his partner’s home in Dorset following a heart attack last night, according to the BBC. He had been diagnosed with bowel cancer in June.
