Holiday Inn is inviting brave guests to take the plunge into an ice bath to help aid muscle recovery following exercise, at 23 of its UK hotels. Westfield Stratford City, the retail development next to the Olympic Park in east London, has confirmed a string of restaurant operators, Caterersearch.com can reveal. The £1.45b development, which will open on 13 September as the largest urban shopping centre in Europe, will feature 300 shops and restaurants across 177,000sq m.

Hotels are being warned to set room rates at sensible levels during the Olympics after dramatic price hikes for the Royal Wedding contributed to disappointing occupancy levels. The HotSats survey from TRI Hospitality Consulting showed that room occupancy in London dropped to around 60% on the day.
