Park Plaza Hotels has appointed Stephen Minns director of sales for its four-star, 119-bedroom Sherlock Holmes hotel in London. Stephen was previously regional director of sales for Sarova Hotels. Hotel consortium Best Western has promoted Sharon McBroom to the role of director of marketing. Sharon has worked for the company for three years as head of marketing. Joining Campanile UK's head office in Old Isleworth, Middlesex, in the role of operations manager is Philip Arnaud. Philip has worked for the company before, from 1998 to 1999, but has most recently been product manager for Club Med. Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, which has 22 hotels in Asia, the Pacific and North America, has welcomed Andrew Harvey as regional director of sales for the UK. Andrew has more than 12 years' experience in the industry, most recently with Hilton Hotels in London.

Belinda Atkins has left her position as senior operations manager for HÁƒÂ¤agen-Dazs Cafes UK to join Cendant Hotel Group Europe. She has become the companyÁ¢Â€Â™s director of operations. Hotel development and franchise company Golden Tulip UK has made two new appointments. Gordon Stewart is the new general manager of the companyÁ¢Â€Â™s three-star, 164-bedroom Manchester hotel. He was previously deputy general manager of the Regency Park Hotel in Thatcham, Berkshire. Joining as director of IT is Gary Bacon, who was previously head of projects for budget hotel and motorway service station operator Welcome Break. ### Pubs and bars The board of Eldridge Pope has appointed Miles Templeman as part-time executive chairman. Miles has most recently been chief executive of drinks company HP Bulmer Holdings, which was bought by Scottish & Newcastle last year. Miles succeeds Robert Colville, who had assumed the position of acting chairman after the illness of Christopher Pope. Robert remains a non-executive director of Eldridge Pope. ### Contract catering
