There was nothing hot and cold about Hospitality Action's Fire and Ice Ball - it was HOT!!! Early indications suggest that generous supporters and guests contributed a staggering £75,000 during the Ball held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in London last November.
Much of the proceeds was raised from donations to the raffle and the auction. Items included a half a day for two in a recording studio, a signed Manchester United shirt and a trip to Lapland donated by platinum sponsors, Compass, and gold sponsors P&G Professional, 3663, Aramark and Hilton UK and Ireland.
Funds raised from the evening will be put to good use and enable HA to continue its important work helping those in need within the hospitality industry.
Don Davenport, HA 's chairman offered sincere thanks to all who so generously supported this year's ball: "It was a fabulous night, made all the better by the fantastic show of support from our industry colleagues. The money raised will go a long way in helping those in difficult situations. My sincere thanks to everyone."
The evening also provided an opportunity for Don to reveal that Karen Browne of William Murray PR is to be its Ambassador for 2002-2003. The new role of HA Ambassador entails raising the charity's profile by campaigning on its behalf during the next twelve months. So be prepared to dig in deep and help out when Karen bends your ear! We wish Ambassador Browne well.
