A concept of quick service "pasta corners" currently being developed by Zanussi for the big Italian pasta manufacturer Barilla combines specialised equipment, including the Rapid System multi-functional pasta cooker and electric hotplates. The system is designed to produce up to 200-250 meals per hour when using pre-cooked products.
High speed outlets based on the Pasta Corner concept are currently being tried by various large continental foodservice operators including French contract catering giant Elior and German motorway service operator Tank Und Rast.
