Guy Arnold and Eddie Street have bought the leasehold on the Monkton Inn on the edge of the Somerset village of West Monkton off an asking price of £79,500.
Street, who has been voted one of the top 20 chefs in the Bristol, Bath and Somerset areas, has headed up a revamp of the food side and extended the service to cater for family and social events such as weddings, christenings, wakes and parties.
The new owners have refurbished the two-storey, detached property which provides a bar, a 42-seat restaurant, and three-bedroom owners’ accommodation on the first floor with kitchenette and bathroom.
The inn, which is three miles from Taunton, also offers a lawned garden with two 300-year-old yew trees, parking for 30 cars, and a trade patio area that will be used for al fresco dining.
Stonesmith of Exeter sold the leasehold on behalf of Steve Dillon and his wife.
