The University of Loughborough is to refurbish and rebrand the 94-bedroom former Quality hotel in the town, which it has purchased for an undisclosed sum.
Located on the main feeder road into Loughborough, the hotel will be known as The Link at Loughborough and managed by Imago, the university’s hotel and conferencing arm and winner of the 2007 Catey award for Best Use of Technology.
Imago currently runs the 225-bedroom Burleigh Court hotel and conference centre at the university. The soon-to-be refurbished hotel, which comprises a 90-cover restaurant, 50-cover bar, function suite for up to 250 people and a leisure club, was part of a group of six hotels formerly operated by the Real Hotel Company, which went into administration in January 2009.
The sale was handled by Christie + Co.
