A fully featured conference and banqueting soultion launched by Guestline operates on the Microsoft SQL Server database and suits both single and multi-site opoerators of hotels, conference centres and clubs. As well as automating sales processes, it can be used to control room and resource scheduling and for advanced menu management. It intergates with Guesline's PMS to provide full guestroom blocking and master billing functionality.

Closer integration with the mainstream Hospitality show plus a good seminar programme helped give this year's Hostec/Eurhotec exhibition more buzz, with good coverage of hotel systems, telecommunications and electronic point-of-sale applications. Improved performance measurement and management were key themes of many of the systems on view.
The official UK launch of Visual One Hotel software, used at 1500 sites worldwide, took place at the show. The windows-based package comprises a fully integrated suite of modules for front office, sales and catering, point of sale, golf and accounting. Mike Gadbury, former head of IGS and more recently with SoftBrands Hospitality, is managing director of the new venture.

ScoreCard, a new software application from Change++, aids performance management in leisure and retail applications by presenting a variety of measurements of output performance in an easy to view format. Reports can draw on data from anywhere in the business - via intranet if required - and highlight, typically by colour-coding, the most successful and least successful outlets across a wide range of performance indicators.

Dynamic Currency Conversion showcased by Fexco enables hospitality providers to show their international customers exact purchase prices in their local currency whenever they use credit cards (Visa, Mastercard or Eurocard). The system is readily incorporated within either terminals or integrated point of sales solutions and the transactions are carried through the banking network. Each transaction receipt shows the exact cost in both sterling and the guest's local currency at the prevailing exchange rate. On a monthly basis, the merchant receives an agreed percentage of the foreign transactions converted in that period.
