The four category winners of the inaugural Hotelympia Innovation Awards have been selected by judges and will be showcased on plasma screens throughout the Innovation Lounges at the show, taking place at London’s ExCel until Thursday 4th March.

The four winners in the design, equipment, food and drink and technology categories were described by the Inspiration Team judges as “the answers to some of the greatest challenges we face”.

The Design Innovation Award went to Resysta by Go In (S1430), a new material created to replace endangered tropical hardwoods when producing outdoor furniture,

Mechline Developments (N2740) was awarded the Equipment Innovation Award for the GB 360, a high-speed, high-volume, rapid food waste decomposition system which uses a special formulation of 100% natural micro-organisms to convert food waste into grey water that is safe for drains and sewage systems.

Winner of the Food and Drink Innovation Award was McCormick (S2350) for its Recipe Mixes, a range of six mixes packed in portion controlled sachets
covering a wide variety of world cuisines including Moroccan and Mediterranean.

Service Invisible by the Catering for a Sustainable Future Group (N1958) was awarded the Technology Innovation Award. It’s a kitchen monitoring system that enables caterers to monitor the amount of gas, electricity and water being used, the temperatures in fridges and freezers, and how much CO2 is in the atmosphere.

Visitors to the show are invited vote for their favourite on touch-screen pods and the winner will be named the People's Choice at the end of the show, along with an overall winner picked by the Inspiration Team.
