Get with the in crowd
Hipster aprons are the latest craze for waiting staff. The new style aprons from Denny's are not only practical, but also trendy.

The three Hipster aprons are worn low on the hips and follow the current fashion for low slung jeans, trousers and skirts allowing wearers to co-ordinate the aprons with their own clothing and personal style.

The Long Side and Short Side aprons sit on the hip and cover one leg, while the Wrap Over design provides all round cover, but is shorter in length.

All aprons are made from polyester cotton and are fastened by sturdy tapes. Available in a range of 34 colours including stripes and checks, with a minimum order of 20 pieces.

If you can't stand the heat in the kitchen, how about Denny's range of Le Chef Staycool clothing?

All garments incorporate a back panel of cellular Airtex fabric which allows triple the airflow through the fabric, cooling the body.

The collection comprises the original Le Chef tunics, executive jacket and American style shirt - all with short sleeves as standard.

Tundra joins the Dudson range

Practical comfort
Simon Jersey was commissioned by Village Hotels & Leisure Clubs, part of De Vere Group  to redesign its staff uniform in its 14 hotels in the UK. The challenge facing designer Elizabeth Topp was to create a range which was not only practical and looked good, but which also created a strong identity for the business.

Following staff and management consultation, a range was put together from the new Working Wardrobe 2002/03 catalogue and then complemented with bespoke items, designed by the team at Simon Jersey.

The focus is on co-ordinated separates using contrasting colourways of garnet and cinnamon. These striking separates have been combined with fashionable suiting.

The new uniforms are worn by both male and female staff, from front to back of house and include Salingers Restaurants, conference and banqueting services, leisure staff, as well as kitchen porters and maintenance.

The Simon Jersey catalogue comprises a vast array of different workwear and uniforms to suit different outlets. These include a unisex button down collar shirt in blue, 70 per cent cotton and 30 per cent polyester. It has short sleeves and a patch pocket and a matching navy and lilac spotted tie.

It blends well with a short navy apron. Or there's the more casual unisex polo shirt available in 14 different colours, from sizes XS to XXL. The outlet's company name or logo can be stitched on the garment through Simon Jersey's embroidery service.

Sound footing
The new Viva women's range of safety footwear offers three styles - bowling, slip on and strap court shoe.

The range has been manufactured to EN 345-1 Safety Footwear standards and include single density polyurethane soles, heat resistant up to 180¡C, with an oil resistant outsole.  Antistatic capacity, shock absorbing heel and comfort lining are all incorporated within the design.
