Risotto rice
Make traditional Italian risottos with Tilda Italian Arborio Risotto rice.

Originating in the Po Valley in Northern Italy, Arborio is the finest of the Superfino risotta rices with a short, plump grain.

Unlike other rices, Tilda Arborio benefits from frequent stirrings, as the stock is added gradually. Add butter and freshly grated Parmesan or add meat, fish or vegetables five minutes before the end of cooking time.

You can add cooked and diced chicken or turkey, thawed frozen garden peas, baby corn, sliced asparagus, mangetout, small broccoli florets, red and yellow sliced peppers or button mushrooms. Steam or stir fry vegetables and stir into the cooked risotto. Serve with additional grated cheese.

In the bag
The name Cirio is synonymous with tomatoes in Italy and the company is hoping to do the same here, with its launch into the UK market. It has introduced new packaging, specially created for the sector - foil bags, which eradicate the problems associated with metal cans or sharp edges and can openers.

The new 3kg bags are hygienic, lightweight and easy-to-pour. They can sit on the shelf or refrigerated once opened, so there is no waste.

Gnocchi up
Collezione Italiana Wood Fired Pizzas are just one of the Italian products on offer from UBF Foodsolutions under the Knorr brand.

For something completely different, there is a variety of gnocchi dishes. Gnocchi is a traditional Italian dish made from potato and flour used as a starter, main course, side dish or bar snack. The Gnocchi varieties have different fillings such as tomato and mozzarella.

Don't forget the bread
An Italian themed menu could include bread choices such as Rosemary and Sea Salt focaccia, Sundried Tomato and Herb Focaccia and two Ciabatta varieties (small and regular sized). How about serving baked or grilled Rosemary and Sea Salt Focaccia with cut garlic and oil topped with saut‚ed wild mushrooms and a hint of chilli?
