Simon Pilling has been appointed event sales executive at conference and event venue the Brewery, London. His previous post was events co-ordinator at hospitality careers organisation Springboard UK, London.

Wine merchant Bibendum has made two appointments. Richard Yates joins as corporate catering account manager from London-based wine merchant Laytons, where he was corporate account manager. Marion Davis joins the London on-trade sales team, having previously been key accounts sales representative at BRL Hardy in Brisbane, Australia.

Amanda Gagen has joined the Macdonald Park House hotel in Shifnal, Shropshire, as hotel receptionist. She was previously at interior design company Tale Africa in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she was a sales representative.

Clare Millward has been appointed senior conference planning executive at Ettington Chase Conference Centre, Warwickshire. She was conference co-ordinator at Beeches Management Centre in Birmingham.

James Stewart has become managing director of newly formed recruitment consultancy JSRecruitment.co. He was previously both Macdonald Hotel Group's regional general manager Oxford, and general manager of the Randolph hotel, Oxford.

Frozen foods group Yearsley has made three appointments to its board of directors, all based at its head office in Heywood, Lancashire. Phil Whitworth, previously finance controller, has become finance director. Ian King, previously national sales manager, has become Belfield Farms director. Edward Yearsley, who was transport manager, has become operations director at the group.

Peter Antinoph has been appointed general manager of the Renaissance London Gatwick hotel. He moves from Egypt, where he was general manager at the Taba Heights Marriott Beach Resort.

Property company Insignia Hotels has appointed Sir James Devitt as a member of its London team and director of the company. He was previously director of hotel property services at PKF, London.

Simon Gillott has joined Sterling Foodservice Design FCSI as a consultant at its Birmingham office. He was projects director at Spectrum Contracts in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Drinks company Chivas Brothers Pernod Ricard has appointed Christian Porta group chairman and chief executive officer, based in London. He was previously chairman of Pernod Ricard Australia and chief executive officer of Orlando Wyndham.

Michael Austin has been appointed human resources manager at the De Vere Grand Harbour, Southampton. He was previously cluster human resources manager for Corus Hotels, overseeing three properties in the North-west.

Stuart Purslow has joined the Macdonald Albrighton Hall hotel in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, as catering manager. He was previously deputy general manger at Holt hotel in Steeple Aston, Oxfordshire.

Perkins Foods, based in Peterborough, Northamptonshire, has appointed David Young group chief executive. He was previously global president with battery brand Duracell based in Connecticut, USA.

Christopher Trotter has been appointed head chef at Myres Castle private house in Auchtermuchty, Fife. He was previously proprietor and chef at the Larder restaurant in Upper Largo, Fife. Tom Wellwood has been appointed front of house manager at Myres Castle. He was formerly catering manager at Rusacks hotel at St Andrews, Fife.
