Aramark goes atomic
Aramark has just started a three-year contract with British Nuclear Fuels in Cumbria. The contract, worth £1.2m a year, was previously run in-house.

Under the deal, the contract caterer will provide catering, cleaning, security services, reception duties and conferencing facilities to two locations - Summergrove Hall, a 130-bedroom conference and training centre in Whitehaven, and Sellapark House, a 17-bedroom hotel near Sellafield, which is mainly used by senior management and VIPs.

Aramark also plans to develop weekend business at Summergrove Hall, catering for weddings and other functions.

Financial Times changes contractor
Eaton Fine Dining has started a three-year contract worth an annual turnover of £1m to provide catering services for the Financial Times's headquarters at Number One Southwark Bridge, London. The contract was previously held by Baxter & Platts.

Eaton Fine Dining will be providing 24-hour catering services in two areas. Both will offer Zest for Life, Eaton's recently launched "eat well, work well" initiative, which sells healthy foods. The caterer will also provide fine-dining and hospitality services.

The newspaper is part of the international media and content company Pearson.

Amadeus first past the winning post
Amadeus, the NEC Group's event catering business, has been awarded the hospitality and public catering contract at Yarmouth Racecourse, owned by Northern Racing Group.

The two-year contract is worth £800,000 a year.

Amadeus, which has been catering at Warwick Racecourse for the past four years, also caters for a range of events, including golf tournaments such as the Wentworth Cisco World Matchplay competition and the Ryder Cup. It also provides corporate hospitality at Coventry City Football Club.

Back to college for Mellors
Mellors, the Southport-based caterer, has announced its 10th contract win in the education sector. Starting this week, it will take over the in-house operation at Loreto College in Manchester, Britain's oldest Catholic sixth-form college.

The three-year deal to cater for 1,300 students and staff will turn over an estimated £200,000 a year.

Mellors will contribute around £75,000 to refurbish the new refectory, which complements a local authority grant to renovate the whole college.

Mellors has 50 contracts - 40 in the business and industry sector - in the North-west.
