West Country brewer and pub operator Wadworth has added four pubs to its estate to bring it to 259 pubs.
Wadworth’s latest acquisitions will see it take control of the Herefordshire Trumpet Inn, the Oxfordshire Home Sweet Home, the Somerset Lord Nelson and Rose and Crown.
The company did not reveal the cost of the purchases.
Fred West, sales director at Wadworth, said: “Our acquisition strategy is based upon finding the right pubs and not just adding numbers to the estate.
“Quality of house, location and the ability to serve the local community are key factors when considering an acquisition – each new pub has to be the perfect fit for our portfolio, and within 90 miles of our brewery in Devizes.”
