Are you a shucker for oysters?

Preparing oysters can be a tricky task. But there are bound to be a few chefs out there who think they've got it sussed. If you are one of them, how about entering the Tabasco British Oyster Opening Championships, where the winner will receive a £250 prize?

The championships, on 1 September at Bibendum Restaurant and Oyster Bar in London, will see contestants compete to open 30 oysters as quickly as possible. The fastest oyster opener - or shucker - will have the chance to compete in the world final in Galway, Ireland, at the end of September.

Entrants can be experienced professionals or enthusiastic amateurs. Interested parties should call 020 7371 6466 for further information.
