New Burger King chief
Fast-food giant Burger King has named the company's new chief executive. Greg Brenneman, chairman and chief executive of private equity company TurnWorks, will take up the position on 1 August. Current chief executive Brad Blum resigned from the company earlier this month citing "strategic differences". Brenneman is the 10th to take the post at Burger King in 15 years.

Barcelo's Warsaw debut
Spanish hotel chain Barcelo Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open its first hotel in Warsaw next year. The company has signed an agreement with the operator of the Blue City leisure centre in the Polish capital to open a four-star hotel at the site. The Barcelo Blue City hotel, which is currently under construction, will have 230 bedrooms. The group plans to open 21 new hotels by the end of next year.

Fairmont sells Glitter Bay
Canadian hotel group Fairmont has sold its Glitter Bay hotel in Barbados to a group of investors for about $31m (£16.7m). Fairmont, which will make $8m (£4.3m) from the sale after tax, will continue to manage the hotel. The new owners plan to renovate and develop the property.

Starwood's Phuket deal
US-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with the Grande Asset Development Company to manage a new hotel in Phuket, Thailand. The Four Points by Sheraton Patong will open in July next year and marks the brand's debut in the Asia-Pacific. The hotel will have 215 bedrooms, three restaurants, leisure facilities and a business centre. It will also offer 149sq m of meeting space.
