Independent ingredients manufacturer Macphie has launched two new mixes that target dieters following the low GI (glycaemic index) programme that has been hailed as a sensible and healthy way to lose weight.

Seeduction is a multiseed bread concentrate packed with sunflower seeds, linseeds, pumpkin seeds and oats that can be made into loaves, rolls and croissants with a GI rating of just 52, compared with white breadÕs GI rating of 71. Caterers and bakers can produce 40 x 400g loaves from the 16kg bag or 20 x 400g loaves from the 8kg bag.

The second product, Satisfaction, is a range of indulgent GI cake mixes in plain or chocolate varieties that are ideal for muffins, loaf cakes and tray bakes and are sold in 10kg bags that can yield 133 x 75g muffins.
