Spanish food importer and restaurant operator Brindisa is relaunching its Soho restaurant Tierra Brindisa as a tapas bar.

The 45-seat Spanish restaurant, which opened two years ago, has undergone a month-long refurbishment and will reopen as Tapas Brindisa this week.

Modelled on the group's existing Tapas Brindisa restaurant at Borough Market, the Soho outlet will feature a dining bar and sharing tables and offer a new menu of small dishes including daily changing specials.

Commenting on the relaunch, Brindisa co-founder Monika Linton said: "Soho is a special place and an offering more akin to what we do in London Bridge is more aligned to how people are now dining in Soho. With the rise in popularity of informal bar-eating, now seemed the time to do what we do best, and reflect the style of how people eat in Spain."

Brindisa, which was set up more than 20 years ago, supplies the restaurant trade from its warehouse in Balham, south London, runs retail outlets at the capital's Borough and Exmouth Markets and operates three London restaurants including Casa Brindisa in South Kensington.
