Heros De Agostinis replaces Massimiliano Blasone at Apsleys

Heinz Beck has installed his protégé Heros De Agostinis as executive chef at Apsleys, a Heinz Beck restaurant at the Lanesborough hotel in London.

De Agostinis, who was Beck's number two at the three-Michelin-starred La Pergola in Rome, moved into the post after Massimiliano Blasone resigned.

Blasone had been executive chef at Apsleys since it relaunched in September 2009 and had worked for Beck for over a decade. It is not clear what he plans to do now, following his departure.

De Agostinis started his culinary career with an internship at Beck's La Pergola in Rome in 1995 and has worked for chefs such as Heinz Winkler and Marc Veyrat. He has also run the kitchens at Hotel Kempinski in both Indonesia and Italy.

Beck is said to be planning to continue spending much of his time in London, overseeing the work in the kitchens of Apsleys and working closely with De Agostinis.
