Hotelympia is expected to get off to a running start next year.
Workers throughout the hospitality industry are being asked to don their running shoes to raise money for the Springboard Charitable Trust by taking part in a 10km run.
The sponsored run will take place on 19 February. Organisers hope to attract 1,500 runners.
Jim Wilkinson, publishing director of the Caterer Group, which is media partner for the event, said: "As the media partner, we are 100% behind this event. Not only should it be good fun and great for the industry's health, but all money raised will go to Springboard."
The race will start and finish at ExCel, one of the 2012 Olympic venues, and the route will pass several areas set to become Olympic locations.
