The Ideal Wash System (IWS) used in the new Electrolux Modular Rack Type dishwashers are said to save up to 75% and 30% in detergent and water use while their heat pumps and Energy-Saving Devices (ESD) cut energy use by 30%.
This can generate savings over 10 years of about £28,000 in detergent costs and £10,000 in water bills.
The IWS uses separate modules for prewashing, washing and rinsing to provide the best conditions for each phase. The prewash zone uses only fresh water to prevent proteins sticking to plates and removes some soiled prewash water without stopping the dishwasher.
The ESD preheats incoming cold water before it enters the insulated boiler, while the Autostart function prevents energy and water use during stand-by periods.
Hygiene features include self-draining wash pumps, pressed tanks that slope towards the drain, a self-cleaning cycle and an atmospheric duo rinse system. The wash arms span the full length of the wash tank to double the water-contact time and 150-litre models have two wash pumps to supply the upper and lower arms individually.
The six models in the range have capacities from 140 to 300 baskets per hour.
