ThermoBar Scan

ThermoBar Scan from TM Electronics is a portable temperature monitor that uses bar-code and Bluetooth technology to create a portable logging tool.

It thus reduces food wastage and staff time while helping caterers comply with HACCP requirements on the storage, preparation, cooking and delivery of foods.

The monitor builds on the accurate and fast-response thermocouple technology used by the first-generation MM200 waterproof thermometers. It can scan and record temperature, time, date and product identity and send it remotely to a computer or mobile phone, saving staff from manually inputting the information.

The system provides the accuracy and speed that's key for chilled and reheated food and is claimed to provide the kind of data handling normally associated with expensive fixed-point wireless systems at a fraction of the cost.

The bar codes can be applied to freshly produced and packaged meals as well as fridges, freezers and other appliances.
