Hotel company the Stein Group, the new operator at London's Cadogan hotel in Knightsbridge, plans to add a third London property to its collection by the end of 2007.
Stein is also on the lookout for a resort-style hotel and golf course in Scotland, as it seeks to double its current collection of 13 owned or managed hotels to 25 within the next five years.
Its strategy has been to acquire both city hotels in Europe and the northern Mediterranean, as well as resort-style properties. Other recent additions have included Port Palace in Monaco and Le Colbert hotel in Paris.
Richard van Batenburg, regional director North Europe, said he was planning to overhaul the Cadogan's food and beverage offering. "We're keen to attract more local residents and will be changing the French cuisine to a modern British theme," he said.
He also plans to open a dedicated bar for local residents.
