A group of 13 young chefs from around the UK took their places on the inaugural Harvey Nichols Chef Apprentice Scheme this week.
The scheme gives the apprentices the chance to work alongside senior chefs across Harvey Nichols restaurants throughout the UK and gain a nationally recognised qualification in the hospitality industry.
The course includes practical work in professional kitchens as well as five weeks of college-based training at Thomas Danby College in Leeds. On successful completion the apprentices are guaranteed a role of chef de partie.
The scheme was set up in conjunction with industry charity Springboard.
