Identità London to return this autumn with new venue and stellar line-up of Italian chefs

Italian chef congress Identità London will return to the capital this autumn, with a new venue and format and a stellar line-up of Italian chefs.

Set to take place at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, east London, on 18 October, Identità London is based on the renowned Milan event, Identità Golose, and was launched in 2009.

This year's one-day gastronomic congress will be devoted to Italian gastronomy showcasing some of the country's top chefs as well as artisan producers.

The line up of chefs will include:
Massimo Bottura of Osteria Francescana in Modena
Davide Scabin of Combal.Zero in Turin
Antonio Cannavacciuolo at Villa Crespi in Orta San Giulio
Ciccio Sultano of Ristorante Duomo in Sicily
Davide Oldani of D'O Restaurant in San Pietro all'Olmo
Paolo Lopriore of Il Canto in Siena

The event will feature cookery demonstrations held in the hotel's De Montfort Suite as well as other tasting events and exhibits from producers. The day and will culminate in a special gala dinner for 100 guests cooked by the chefs in the evening.

Identità founder and Italian food editor Paolo Marchi said: "Identità London shall endeavour to explain the fundamental principles of today's Italian cuisine. Using the extraordinary and almost inexhaustible resources of regional cuisines, interpreted in a contemporary way, chefs will demonstrate their craft, their thoughts and experiences to showcase their personal evolution of Italian gastronomy side by side with like-minded producers."

Identità London will be followed by the second Identità New York congress, which will be held at the Eataly event in Manhattan on 31 October and 1 November.
