Richard Corrigan’s new restaurant in Mayfair has garnered more critical acclaim, with the Independent’s Tracey MacLeod saying the Irish chef has “got it so right”.

The restaurant next to the Grosvenour House hotel is Corrigan’s third London outlet after Bentley’s and the Michelin-starred Lindsay House, which is set to close next year.

MacLeod is impressed with Corrigan’s cooking and says: “Great ingredients, imaginatively cooked, with the perfect balance of simplicity and cheffy artistry and no trace of the cultural cringe.”

Meanwhile, the Sunday Times’s food critic AA Gill visits Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush and is surprised to find himself not utterly averse to it.

“Yet I still feel a resistance to the whole idea of a food court. It seems slightly spooky. A bit Stepford Chefs,” he says.

The Observer’s Jay Rayner is impressed with the food at the Allotment in Dover, Kent, while Jasper Gerard visits The Star Inn in Harome, North Yorkshire.
