Pub firm JD Wetherspoon has revealed that it is to open 250 pubs across the UK over the next five years, as part of a £250m investment.
The move is expected to create 10,000 new jobs.
The group has opened 39 pubs in the year to the end of July, and had already announced it would open 40 new pubs by the middle of next summer.
Wetherspoon's chairman Tim Martin said: "Our pubs are extremely popular and we wish to build on their success by opening more."
Wetherspoon currently operates 743 pubs in the UK.
