Catermasters retains Learning and Skills Council contract

Catermasters has extended its relationship with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) into its second decade.

In a five-year deal (three years with an option to extend another two) worth more than £1.5m in turnover, the contract caterer will continue to feed a workforce of 650 people in Coventry.

Catermasters, which has its training and development centre for new chefs at the venue, will continue to offer high street deli-style lunches, hot and cold breakfast and hospitality lunches in the LSC’s conference rooms.

Sue Walker, LSC facilities manager, said: “We have enjoyed a very successful relationship with Catermasters for the last decade and, having looked at other suppliers in the marketplace, we don’t feel there is any need to change.”

From 2010, the LSC will be replaced with two new bodies: the Skills Funding Agency and National Apprenticeship Service.
