Supplier News: Pritchitts extends its butter range

Pritchitts is extending its butter range with the launch of two new products to complement its foil wrapped portions. The new additions include salted butter portions available in plastic pots with lids for front of house, and salted 250g packs of butter wrapped in parchment, ideal for use back of house.

Simon Muschamp, head of marketing at Pritchitts, comments: “We’ve extended our range of butter portions to give operators the choice of two different styles of packaging to best suit their outlet and customer base. By offering either of our high quality butter portions, outlets will stand out by reflecting a quality image.

“The need to serve quality butter is currently emphasised by customers recognising the health benefits of butter over that of processed margarines and spreads. This has been shown by sales of margarine recently falling and sales of butter rising, due to consumers wanting more natural, authentic products.”

Pritchitts Lakeland Butter offers rich, high quality creamy butter and is produced from cows feeding on lush, green meadow pastures.  The award winning butter has won the prestigious Read Cup for the highest quality butter in Ireland thirteen times.

Pritchitts butter portions are ideal served with breakfast goods such as toast, croissants and bagels, and also alongside bread with lunch or evening meals. They offer hygiene and convenience combined with high quality and excellent value for money, and are perfect for outlets wanting to maintain portion control and reduce wastage.

Simon continues: “Butter is an essential ingredient in any kitchen as it is incredibly versatile, and is used in a variety of dishes including sauces, cakes, and pastry, as well as an oil for frying.  By using our new high quality butter in cooking and baking, caterers can add a richer, superior flavour to dishes.”

Packaged in a parchment material, the 250g butter has the added advantage of being able to be softened or melted in a microwave, something that is impossible with foil wrapped butter, thereby making it more user-friendly.

The new butter dish portions are available in boxes of 100 x size 10 and have a long shelf life of 180 days refrigerated. The butter packs are available in 40 x 250g, also with a shelf life of 180 days.

Pritchitts is a Lakeland Dairies company.
