Sweet Potato Fries

Vivid, orange-fleshed Sweet Potato Fries from Lamb Weston aim to spice up a menu and tap into the growing popularity of the tuber, which is now being hailed as a superfood that is low in fat and high in antioxidants, fibre, iron, and vitamins A, B6, C and E.

Its sweet flavour, tender texture and crisp bite complements a wide variety of dishes, such as fish fillets, gourmet burgers and vegetarian meals, and they also work well as starters, bar snacks or part of a combi sharing platter.

The frozen fries are cut in the straight style preferred by 55% of consumers which, combined with their longer length, provides more servings per case than ordinary fries.

Research commissioned by Lamb Weston revealed that 40% of customers were more likely to visit restaurants that served sweet potato fries, and that 50% would be willing to pay up to 50% more for the exotic fries. Confirming these figures, operators offering the fries enjoyed a 40% rise in visits.

The chips are sold in 4 x 2.5kg and cook quickly from frozen in a fryer or convection oven.
