With consumer treating themselves to a snack up to six times a day, Macphie believes its new Brownie Mix and Concentrate offers caterers rich pickings in terms of profit opportunities.

The 12.5kg bags of mix produce rich, moist, fudgy brownies with an ingredient cost of just 10p per 70g portion.

Caterers can tempt the impulse snacker by wrapping the brownies individually, cutting them into minis (retail sales of bite-sized brownies grew by 45% in 2009) or serving them warm as desserts with chocolate sauce, ice-cream, fruits or nuts.

An online competition to win a luxury spa break at a Hilton hotel in the UK or Ireland supports the launch of the premium mix -visit www.macphie.com/lovebrownie to enter.
