Arturo Esposito named as general manager of UK’s first Pestana hotel

Arturo Esposito has been announced as the general manger of the new four-star, 216-bedroom Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa, which opened on Monday.

Originally from Italy, Esposito has more than 40 years experience in the hotel industry.  He has managed numerous four- and five-star properties for InterContinental Hotels, Holiday Inn, Marriott and Southern Sun in South Africa.

Espostio has worked for Portuguese hotel group Pestana since 2001, when he was appointed to manage and develop its Southern Africa region.

Situated on the river Thames overlooking Battersea Park, the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and Spa is the first UK property for the group.  It has a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, six meeting rooms for 10 to 500 delegates, a spa and indoor swimming pool.

The Pestana group is the biggest hotel group in Portugal with more than 30 four- and five-star owned and managed hotels, as well as properties in Argentina, Brazil, Mozambique, South Africa, Cape Verde and Sao Tome and Principe.
