What: Totally Hampered - a new service offered by the Metro restaurant in Clapham, London, which allows picnic-goers on Clapham Common to avoid the hassle of making their own lunch by having one custom-made and delivered.
Why: This way, you drop into the restaurant, order what you want (smoked salmon bagels, roast beef on doorstep, mozzarella, avocado and sunblush tomatoes on ciabatta, wine, strawberries, etc), wander off, pick a spot on the Common and await delivery. A short time later, a gingham-lined hamper and picnic blanket will appear, and staff will even pour the drinks for you.
Good for: Low-hassle, chilled-out days in the sun.
Bad for: It's not exactly cheap (£35 for two) and there's a Sainsbury's just down the road.
