Butlins launches tween-friendly hotel in Bognor
Soon-to-be teenagers are the target audience of a new £25m hotel which has opened today at Butlins in Bognor Regis.
The 215-bedroom Wave Hotel, with 29 self-catering apartments, includes inter-connecting rooms and cabin-style beds with built-in TVs, as well as a selection of Wii consoles, iMacs, PS3s, iPod docks and kindles. It also features a futuristic games port and walls that transform into 3D features.
Mike Crowther, Butlins operations director, said: "British families are busier than ever, so we're always looking at new and innovative ways to help families spend quality time together. We also know that pleasing everyone on holiday can be a tricky task - but we're confident that we've cracked it with our state-of-the-art tween hotel."
The launch of the property - which will be the third hotel at the Bognor resort - marks the most significant investment in the company since Sir Billy Butlin set up camp in 1936. Bourne Leisure, which bought the company in 2000, has invested more than £400m into the three Butlins holiday parks in Bognor, Minehead and Skegness.
