Automat owner calls in administrators

The owner of London restaurant Automat has called in administrators who are looking to sell the Mayfair venue.

Corporate restructuring and insolvency firm MCR has been called into 17 Berkeley St Limited, which owns Automat, a New York-style brasserie on Dover Street.

The restaurant is continuing to operate as normal as a buyer is sought for its leasehold interests.

Geoff Bouchier, partner at MCR, commented: "The Automat brasserie is a very successful business and has a strong operating team in place.

"Davis Coffer Lyons has been appointed to assist with the marketing of the business and leasehold interests and are dealing with the significant interest received to date. I am very confident that the administration will lead to a successful sale or restructuring of the company's business operations and assets."
