Morgan Meunier was formerly head chef at the Admiralty restaurant on London's Strand and before that at Monsieur Max, Twickenham. His new 48-seat restaurant in Islington will offer French food and feature art by the chef himself.

Conran's latest offering - this time in the form of a restaurant, bar and grill on the fourth floor of the Canada Place building in Canary Wharf. There's a bar and grill section and a more formal dining area offering modern French cuisine. Expect an organic colour scheme apparently based on the varying shades of an olive tree.

The Cook's Room, Glasgow
Previously located in Giffnock for six years, the Cook's Room has relocated to Glasgow's West End after bursting at the seams. Self-taught chef Tom Battersby is still cooking up an eclectic menu featuring local supplies.

Cayenne, Belfast
Chefs Paul and Jeanne Rankin are celebrating 15 years at Cayenne with a £500,000 refurbishment. Cayenne's original designers Twenty Two Over Seven were back on board to refit and extend the restaurant.
