Young’s the Dukes Head pub in Putney, South-west London, has reopened after a £1m refurbishment as the group’s first completely non-smoking boozer.
Lee Bartlett, general manager of the Duke’s Head, said: “After the refurbishment we thought a ban on lighting up would help breathe new life into the pub.”
The pub has a new adjoining bar and dining area and will have a new menu to complete its new look.
By the end of this year, two further Young’s pubs in south London will be converted to non-smoking: The Dog & Fox in Wimbledon, which is due to re-open in early December after a £1m refurbishment and the Waterfront pub in Wandsworth, which will open on 28 November.
