Chinese restaurant becomes third eaterie at City of London Crowne Plaza

A destination Chinese restaurant has become the third eaterie to open at the Crowne Plaza London – The City.

The 80-cover Chinese Cricket Club is available alongside Refettorio, directed by Michelin-starred chef Giorgio Locatelli, and all-day dining concept the Lobby Lounge.

Head chef, Brendan Speed, who previously launched and ran Zuma Istanbul, is offering a range of Sichuan speciialities with a modern twist. Signature dishes include crispy orange beef, fried perch with garlic chives, orange rib of beef and silken tofu with broad bean paste.

Average spend is £22 at lunch and £26 at dinner, including drinks.

The restaurant has been named in honour of the newly-formed Chinese national cricket team which has played its first international match this year, as well as commemorating the recent translation of the laws of cricket into Mandarin by the Asian Cricket Council.
