Hilton ball raises £370,000 for sick children

Hilton’s Community Foundation Ball raised a record breaking £370,000 this year to help sick and disadvantaged children.

The Muir Maxwell Trust for epileptic children will receive half of the money raised, with the rest of the money being distributed amongst other children’s charities.

The money was raised from ticket sales for the annual ball which included a champagne reception, four course dinner, performance by the cast of the West End show Mamma Mia and an auction led by actor Christopher Biggins which alone raised over £80,000.

Since the Hilton in the Community Foundation was founded in 2000, hundreds of young people have been helped in the UK and during major disasters overseas.

In 2008, the Foundation awarded £1.24m to 294 charitable organisations, benefiting over 200,000 young people.
