Compass Group has entered into a two-year partnership with charity Cancer Research.

The move, the first time the contract catering giant has elected to work with a single charity, will see Compass aiming to donate £250,000 to Cancer Research within the first year of the relationship.

Compass UK & Ireland managing director Ian El-Mokadem, who spoke exclusively to Caterer about his plans for the caterer last month, said of the partnership: “This is a great cause and working with Cancer Research UK gives us a fantastic opportunity to show how creative and imaginative employees can be with their fundraising ideas.

“We are giving our fundraising effort a kick-start with a launch donation of £50,000, so we’re already underway.”

At the start of January, Compass will hold a director’s challenge for its UK & Ireland committee in support of Cancer Research.
