Landmark Wholesale has welcomed two new food service members to its buying and marketing group for independent wholesalers.

The new recruits are Brook Street Foods, based in Needham Market near Ipswich, and Turners Fine Foods of Goudhurst in Kent.

Brook Street Foods, which has a £10m annual turnover, is a supplier of chilled and frozen foods to food service customers in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex and is planning to expand its reach.

Turners Fine Foods started life as Turners Cheese in 1995 but was renamed in 2003 when it refocused its efforts onto the food service market. It supplies general and specialised foods to more than 1,000 leading chefs and catering outlets in the South east and expects turnover to hit £16m this year.

Milton Keynes-based Landmark Wholesale was set up in 1972 and now has an annual turnover in excess of £2b. Although its traditional strength has been in the cash-and-carry retail sector, managing director Martin Williams said most of its recent growth in sales and membership has come from the food service side.
