Independent contract caterer BaxterSmith has won four new three-year contracts with a total annual turnover of £2m.
Later this month the caterer will open a contract with pharmaceutical giant Novartis at its head office in Horsham, West Sussex. The deal, which has a turnover of £700,000 a year, will see BaxterSmith feeding 1,000 people a day. It was previously held by Sodexho.
BaxterSmith has also secured a deal to feed 270 people at the Medical Research Council in London’s Regent Park. The contract starts in April and has an annual turnover of £300,000. It too was formerly run by Sodexho.
The company recently started a £400,000-a-year contract to feed 200 people at the head office of General Electric Power in Bracknell, Berkshire. The contract was previously held by Compass Group’s Baxter & Platts.
It has also just opened a £600,000-a-year contract to provide catering services for 800 people at the John Innes Research Centre in Norwich. That contract was formerly held by Avenance.
Chairman William Baxter added that the group, which comes to the end of its financial year in May, was on track to report a turnover of slightly more than £16m, just three years after starting up.
