Stuart Procter is leaving the Stafford London by Kempinski after six years as the hotel's general manager.

He will leave the 105-bedroom hotel tomorrow to move on to a new hotel project in the capital, which he can not yet reveal.

Procter, a former Acorn winner, joined the Stafford eight years ago from the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, where he was general manager.

Over the years he and his team have taken the property from a four-AA-red-star to a five-AA-red-star hotel.

"It was always my dream to run the Stafford and take over from legendary Hotelier of the Year Terry Homes," Proctor said. "My team and I have taken the foundations that Terry left and taken the property to the next level in terms of product with great support from the owners.

"Recently positioning the hotel under the world-renowned Kempinski brand has seen the hotel going from strength to strength. It was a tough decision to move on, but my next chapter is going to be too exciting to miss."

The Stafford was the winner of the Hotel of the Year - Group award at the 2008 Cateys.
