Hotel industry in South Africa

Land and construction costs are currently increasing faster than increases in actual achieved room rates. In order to meet the Government’s growth targets and continue the growth in employment within the sector, new properties need to be developed. But the survey warned that for these to be feasible, room rates need to rise enough to recoup the recent increases in land and building costs.
