Gravesend Mediterranean restaurant to become a Mexican

The Island Mediterranean restaurant in the busy high street of Gravesend in Kent is to become a Mexican-themed eaterie under new owner Rifat Sucu.

The restaurant in New Road has the capacity to accommodate up to 100 diners across two floors.

Sucu, an existing restaurant operator, will take a month to refurbish and relaunch the restaurant.

The Maidstone office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £750,000 on behalf of Alex and John Barnett, who originally put the leasehold on the market.
