Bear's Paw

Local owner-operators the Nelson family have bought the Bear’s Paw country inn, hotel and restaurant in the conservation village of Warmingham, South Cheshire.

The two-storey, detached property in School Lane is opposite the church and River Wheelock in Warmingham and is just five miles from Sandback and Crewe and a 10 minutes’ drive from Junction 17 of the M6.

It has 12 en-suite luxury bedrooms that have a four-star rating from the AA, a 60-seat restaurant  that is recognised by Les Routiers, a lounge and public bars that are listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for their real ales, and two-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

Trade is split equally between food, accommodation and drinks.

The Nelsons also own the Grosvenor Pulford hotel and spa in the village of Pulford near Chester and the Pheasant Inn at Higher Burwardsley near Tattenhall.

The Bear’s Paw will be run by the Nelson’s son Andrew, who is currently licensee at the Pheasant Inn.

The Manchester office of Christie + Co was seeking offers of £1.5m for the freehold on behalf of David Beason.
